Steve Jobs' speech leaked.. oops

Long time, no post. This seemed worthy to shake the dust off this place though.

Steve Jobs, that master of PR, gives the keynote speech at the MacWorld exposition for all things Apple every year, and it's always a hot ticket that makes the mainstream news, not to mention changing the world at times. (One year ago he introduced the iPhone at this event.)

His speech is also very top secret til he speaks it - or has been til now: the fifth draft of his speech outline has been leaked.

The item that got my interest is that Apple is partnering with Twitter. I knew those Twitter guys would hit the big time, and they deserve to.

Please to enjoy.

Words and numbers in Washington

November 8, 2006: "The message yesterday was clear.. I recognise that many Americans voted last night to register their displeasure with the lack of progress being made [in Iraq]." -- George W. Bush

January 10, 2007: "I have committed more than 20,000 additional American troops to Iraq."
-- George W. Bush

January 11, 2007: Defense Secretary Robert Gates said he would recommend increasing the Army and Marine Corps by 92,000 troops over the next five years.
-- news item

May 1, 2003: "Mission Accomplished"
-- banner behind George W. Bush during his speech on the USS Lincoln
(table updates weekly)

November 8, 2006: "I've reassured the House and Senate leaders that I intend to work with the new Congress in a bi-partisan way to address issues confronting this country."
-- George W. Bush

January 11, 2007: Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Kentucky, said Thursday that Republicans might filibuster the Democratic-sponsored resolution opposing the [Iraq] strategy. -- news item

Is it a matter of none of them ever talking to each other? I think not.
Maybe they just need a dictionary.. obviously they're confused about the meanings of the words they use.

Or maybe it's all just a matter of fuzzy math.. they're good at that too:

Get rich by calling people 'fat slob'

Well, maybe only The Donald can get away with that.

His camp claims that Rosie O'Donnell started their oh-so-nasty public feud, and maybe she did by mouthing off on "The View" about his decision to let underage Miss USA keep her tiara after she was caught drinking & whooping it up on the town.

He also complained that she made fun of his hair (but c'mon, who doesn't?) He retaliated by calling Rosie "a loser", "a slob" and "a fat pig" among other choice words.

Donald Trump's never been known as a charmer, but isn't all this a bit unusual? Every comedian, gossip columnist, talk show host, and even news anchors have poked fun at him for years, often getting far more vicious than Rosie did, but he hasn't yelled back personal & juvenile insults about them. Could this current tirade have something to do with the fact "The Apprentice" starts its new season this weekend? Things that make you go hmmm.

This feud is the phoniest thing TV has seen since Johnny Fairplay's grandma didn't die on "Survivor" and as many people have fallen for it. Trump's appearing on every talk & gossip show in town this week and he conveniently has something else to talk about than plugging his new show like every other guest does. Even hard news shows & websites add a postscript to their Donald/Rosie stories, stating that "The Apprentice" starts up again January 7.. not even The Donald can buy this kind of advertising.

The only other time Trump's been this nasty and this public was when he went after Martha Stewart for her failed "Apprentice" spinoff. That time the rumblings began before her show was pulled and went ballistic while his show's third season was airing.. hmmm. Both Rosie & Martha are strong women who've been called the same things he called them by all & sundry, and neither is going to be fazed by another public dressing down.. coincidence? I think not. It's all planned.

O'Donnell was conveniently on vacation from "The View" for the latest fallout, but Barbara Walters sidestepped the issue this week by merely saying she wasn't going to fire Rosie, and by correcting a few statements Rosie had made - notably that Trump had declared bankruptcy in the past. Walters pointed out that some of his companies had filed for bankruptcy but he never had personally. Trump had threatened lawsuits for that one, so Walters made sure to correct it.. it's only slander if it's untrue.

Meanwhile Trump isn't bothering to go after anyone else who picks on him, and there's an unending supply. I guess he's too busy with his tv show, Manhattan real estate, Atlantic City casinos, get-rich seiminars road show, plans to take over Vegas & Dubai, and finding new Miss Universe sponsors since MADD pulled out in protest.

Or maybe he just hasn't made a deal to hold a public feud with anyone else this week. This one will fill his pockets plenty.
